COOPER: Appreciate you being with us. You’ve heard FEMA’s statement that it is basically you guys, it is local officials, it is state red tape that’s holding up these trailers.

RODRIGUEZ: FEMA’s a damn lie. They can’t tell the truth.

COOPER: Absolutely that there’s—
RODRIGUEZ: We have no restrictions in St. Bernard Parish. I can’t speak about any other parish. We have no restrictions, we have everything.

COOPER: They say there are problems with the local energy company, that the sites, that the state has to approve the sites.

RODRIGUEZ: That’s bullshit.

COOPER: We’re on the air, sir.

This isn’t the first time the word ‘bullshit’ was muttered on CNN.

Haha… I don’t really know what to say about these kind of things. I mean, it’s live TV, so unless everyone runs a delay, there’s nothing anyone can do… I’ve seen Kathy Griffin slip and say “shit” on Fox and Friends (a couple years ago).. She’s always unpredictable, but they were joking about something and it just slipped.. I can’t remember when, but I’ve heard similar things on Hannity & Colmes at least once or twice. And the most recent example I remember on FNC was Shep Smith interviewing people on Bourbon St. the night before Katrina struck… People were just acting normal and he was asking them why… one guy walking his dogs said “None of your fucking business”... actually, you’ve got that clip I just noticed http://exposetheleft.com/2005/08/28/noneof

Anyway, I’m sort of different on the “decency” thing, when it comes to swearing… I just don’t get it. What makes a swear a swear, ya know? The only reason they are “swears” is because society or whoever decided they were… but I’m not clear on why swears are “swears”, when they have other acceptable words that mean the same things.

Either way, these clips are pretty funny.

Ian, you should put together a montage of live cable news swearing.
